Natasha Cloud to join Phoenix Mercury, sources say
Natasha Cloud is signing with the Phoenix Mercury as an unrestricted free agent, sources confirmed to Girls Talk Sports TV.
The deal will be announced Thursday, the sources said.
Cloud, 31, is a WNBA champion who helped lead the Washington Mystics to their first title in 2019 as the starting point guard.
The Mystics experienced a first-round exit in the 2023 playoffs, eliminated by the New York Liberty in a best-of-three series.
Now Cloud will have the opportunity to contribute to an experienced Mercury roster aiming to rebound after a challenging 9-31 season in 2023 -- and the Mercury acquire one of the best two-way guards on the free agency market.
Cloud averaged a career-high 12.7 points and 6.2 assists in 37 games last season and has career averages of 8.2 points and 5.1 assists. She has consistently ranked in the top five in assists for the past three seasons.
